Masterclass on Pollution & policy: how to navigate marine regulations and scale innovation in the mediterranean

Date & Time: November 24th , 11:00-13:00 CET
Location: Microsoft Teams
Organised by: Ecorys

Marine pollution – from chemical contaminants and plastics to nutrient discharge and underwater noise – is one of the most urgent threats to the health of our seas. Addressing it requires not only technological innovation but also a deep understanding of the regulatory environment shaping how solutions are deployed and scaled.
As part of the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030”, ambitious targets are set to reduce pollution and restore ecosystems. However, many solution providers and innovators face a major challenge: navigating the complex legal and governance frameworks at EU, regional, and national levels. This knowledge gap often limits their capacity to enter markets, engage the right stakeholders, or design effective business strategies.

This 2-hour masterclass aims to bridge science, policy, and business, offering innovators a clear overview of the legal landscape of marine pollution in the Mediterranean and actionable insights on how to integrate regulatory considerations into their go-to-market strategies.
