Boosting the implementation of the EU Mission Ocean and Waters: Tools, Strategies and Knowledge for the Protection of the Greek Seas
Two years after its inaugural gathering, the Greek HUB is preparing to welcome its community once again. The 5th Meeting will take place on 16 December 2025 at the Elia Ermou Athens Hotel (Ermou 15–17), bringing together researchers, innovators, and institutional representatives from across the country to match the national needs with available solutions and financial mechanisms to scale coastal and marine-ecosystem protection and restoration solutions.
The day will open with registration at 09:30, followed by the start of the sessions at 10:00.
This year’s event is delivered through the collaboration of the BLUEMISSIONMED and BLUE ECOSYSTEM programmes, hosted by the Institute of Oceanography – Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) and the Institute for Sustainable Development – European Public Law Organization (EPLO), with technical support from VERIMPACT. Their joint work underscores a shared commitment to strengthen the connections between science, innovation, and sustainable development, fostering constructive dialogue among research bodies, businesses, and public institutions.
Members and potential members of the Hub will have the opportunity to learn about both existing and emerging solutions related to the protection and restoration of marine and freshwater ecosystems, as well as the BlueMissionMed Community Platform. The programme aims to highlight national opportunities for collaboration and the available financing opportunities that can accelerate the development and implementation of these solutions, making a substantial contribution to the EU Mission “Restore Our Ocean and Waters”.
Presentations, panel discussions, and networking sessions will create a dynamic environment for knowledge exchange and the development of future collaborations.
