On 10 December, from 10:30 to 12:00 CET, the third Hackathon focused on the fisheries and aquaculture sector will take place, which is part of the BlueMissionMed Support Programme.

The purpose is to engage both sectors and the necessary stakeholders to advance the achievement of the objectives of the Mission Restore Our Ocean and Waters. 
Its main objective is to inspire, empower and support stakeholders and professionals in the fisheries and aquaculture sector who are interested in contributing to and advancing actions aimed at preventing and/or minimising pollution in our oceans and waters.

This event will also be organised to support the generation of innovative ideas in areas where solutions have not yet emerged, or to foster embryonic solutions or the adaptability of solutions to other or new needs and strategic partnerships among BlueMissionMed Community members.

BlueMissionMed Community – B2Match Platform is a space designed to enable Mediterranean stakeholders to connect, access tools and networking opportunities, and schedule meetings or matchmaking sessions with participants from this and previous events. The platform allows not only stakeholder registration but also the solutions and services they offer or seek. During the session, information will be provided on the available resources.

Framing the Hackathon4Fisheries&Aquaculture:
This activity is carried out taking into account the conclusions and recommendations of the document “DEPOLLUTING THE MEDITERRANEAN – Roadmap 2030 for key economic sectors to fulfil the EU’s mission to restore our oceans and waters through innovative and transformative solutions” as well as the “Operational Implementation Roadmap (OIR)” document. Both documents are available in the “Resources for Stakeholders” section of the BlueMissionMed website.

It will address key aspects such as:

  • Introducing support services for innovation
  • Accelerating circular models.
  • BlueMissionMed: Innovative Transformative Solutions.
  • Co-create innovative ideas in areas where solutions have not yet emerged.
  • Networking to foster embryonic solutions and strategic partnerships among BlueMissionMed Community members
  • Best practice exchanges in the Mediterranean
