Resources for stakeholders
This page provides access to the resources developed by the BlueMissionMed project for stakeholders involved in achieving the objectives of the EU Mission: Restore our Ocean and Waters.
Operational Implementation Roadmap

This document outlines a vision and roadmap for the strategic transformation of key sectors in order to reach the Mission 2 Objective in the Mediterranean basin for the 2023-2030 period. In recognizing that these are complex, wicked problems, BlueMissionMed adopts a systemic approach and the OIR goes beyond the single sectorial needs considering challenges, opportunities, and actors influencing the broader Mission objectives. The OIR seeks to provide strategic planning for sectors agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries, tourism, transport and ports, wastewater and solid waste management in cities/regions and the plastic industry, with respect to the needs of the sectors for design and implementation of sectorial development strategies for achieving the Mission goals, taking into consideration all four domains of the BMM ontology (technological/scientific, policy, economic, social).
Outcomes from events with Stakeholders

In this section, you can find the outcomes of the international events organized by BlueMissionMed for stakeholders to address challenges and find solutions for the protection of the ocean and waters in the Mediterranean area.
Toolkit for large scale events

In the context of large-scale events targeting the general public (and specifically young people), BlueMissionMed designed formats to:
- catch the interest, inspire and inform about the importance of the Ocean and Waters for the ecosystems, the pressures, risks and challenges and the role that everybody should have to protect the blue treasure;
- make the citizens aware about the Mission Ocean and Waters objectives and contribution.
Games hands-on labs for kids engagement

Promote the emotional engagement and connection with the Ocean and Waters, stimulating citizens to take an active role in protecting our blue treasure.
Our Blue Treasure - Book for kids

The book “Our Blue Treasure” aims to raise awareness about the impact of daily actions on the health of our ocean and waters, and the reciprocal effect of water well-being on our lives. Targeted at children aged 6 to 10, the book simplifies complex environmental concepts into colorful, interactive content. It encourages active participation through games, challenges, and activities, where children can use stickers to complete information. By doing so, they gain a deeper understanding of how their actions can influence the ocean and waters. Even younger children can engage with the book, guided by older siblings, adults, or teachers!
Funding opportunities

To address the impact-driven approach of the Mission and the nature of Innovation Actions, funding under the Mission ‘Restore our Ocean and Waters’ projects is also available for Associated Regions. The goal of these calls is to showcase the feasibility, replicability, and scalability of solutions developed within these projects in other areas.
Associated Regions represent ecosystems (e.g. neighbouring regions and/or regions in a different sea or river basin) and/or less-developed regions that can benefit from the demonstration activities, with the view to build capacity to implement the innovative solutions to restore marine and freshwater ecosystems. Associated Regions need to be located in Member States or associated countries that are not part of the original Mission ‘Restore our Ocean and Waters’ project consortium. Calls are specifically targeted at local and/or regional public authorities.
